Continuing our commitment to human rights and labor practices that all Group companies and subsidiaries, and therefore all employees, will have completed compliance audits in accordance with SMETA or equivalent by 2025, thereby aligning ourselves with the United Nations Principles for Business and Human Rights.
We announce that Profand Group has also recently completed our SMETA audit in the USA.
SMETA is the most widely used social audit in the world and allows companies to self-assess themselves on an ethical level and, in turn, evaluate their suppliers to ensure that all agents involved in their business, in their supply chain, are fair and socially responsible.
The SMETA audit methodology works with four pillars: health and safety, labor standards, environment and business ethics. It is a comprehensive social compliance audit designed to assess and monitor ethical practices in supply chains. SMETA audits are conducted to ensure that suppliers adhere to ethical and socially responsible practices.
Currently, Grupo Profand has already completed SMETA audits in our plants in Spain, Argentina, Peru, India and now the USA.
